Small Group Questions - Weekend of June 21

Group Opener:

Finish this statement. One thing I appreciate about my dad is…

Group Questions:

  1. What things would come mind if someone asked you, “Are you ready for Christ’s return?”

  1. Read 2 Peter 3:9-14.  What does this passage say about God’s return and his desire for everyone?

  1. So how can we be found blameless and doing what God wants?  Have someone read John 14:15-27.

  1. What role does the Holy Spirit play in your life?  What would you like to change about how you interact with the H.S.?

  1. Why do you think we want to control our lives instead of trying to be directed by God through his Holy Spirit?

  1. Read Colossians 1:9-12.  What all is listed in this prayer Paul prayed for believers at the Colossian Church?

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to show us what he wants from us and then the willingness on our parts to be obedient to what he is asking of us.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
