Small Group Questions - Weekend of May 24

Group Opener:

Share a story about when someone mistook you for another person. Who did they think you were? How did you respond?

Group Questions:

  1. The rapture is definitely something that is impossible for us to imagine, but… dream a little bit. What do you think this will look like? What images pop into your mind?

  1. What are some of the things you have already been taught about the rapture? Do you think people fear the rapture, or look forward to it, or ignore it altogether?

  1. Read 1 Corinthians 15:35-58. What does Paul encourage the believers to do? (See verse 58.)  What does this look like, in a practical sense?

  1. Read 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12. What is Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonian believers? What do you think it means for Jesus to be glorified through works of faith?

  1. Our time on earth until we die (or Jesus returns) is for us to be made into the image of Christ through a process known as sanctification. Share with each other how you see God changing your heart or working in your life.

  1. As you pray, include 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 – that God may continue working in your hearts and transforming you into the image of Christ until the day He returns.

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us understand what it means to completely trust him and put our hope in his truths.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
