Small Group Questions - Weekend of May 17

Group Opener:

If you could travel to any country, where would you go and why?

Group Questions:

  1. How has this series, God Wins, impacted you? What have you been learning?

  1. What things have you been hearing in the news about Israel? Why do you think these are so important?

  1. Read Genesis 12:1-9. From what we know, this is Abraham’s first encounter with God. Put yourself in his place for a moment – how do you think you would have responded?

  1. Verse 4 tells us that Abraham went, taking his family with him. What does this tell us about Abraham’s relationship with God?

  1. Read Hebrews 11:8-10. What was Abraham looking forward to?

  1. So far we’ve talked about the covenant between Abraham and God, and how Abraham responded in obedience to God’s commands. What does God command us to do today?

  1. What do we have to look forward to, if we are in relationship with Him?

  1. As you pray, ask God for the strength to be obedient to His Word.

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us understand what it means to completely trust him and put our hope in his truths.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
