Small Group Questions - Weekend of April 19

Group Opener:

What is the funniest thing that happened to you this week?

Group Questions:

  1. Share some of the concerns people have about things that are happening in our world. What is everyone worried about?

  1. What is it about “not knowing” that causes us to be worried?

  1. Read Philippians 4:4-7. What do these verses tell us about handling our worry and anxiety? What are we to do, instead?

  1. Read Psalm 62:8. David proclaimed his trust in God. How do we know we can trust Him?

  1. Hebrews 13:9 says, “Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace…” How can our heart be strengthened by grace?

  1. Use Ephesians 3:14-21 to guide your prayer. Pray this for each other, for our church, and for our community, especially for those who are still far from Him.

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us understand what it means to completely trust him and put our hope in his truths.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
