Small Group Questions - Weekend of April 12

Group Opener:

What’s a good book you’ve read or movie you’ve recently seen?  What did you like about it?

Group Questions:

  1. Tell a little about when you first started to believe in God.

  1. How is your trust in god different today?

  1. Have someone read Hebrews 11:6.  How does faith and trust work together?  What does it mean to “earnestly seek him (NIV)?”

  1. God’s word should be our main source of building our belief in who God is and how we are to respond to him.  Read John 20:30-31.  Share one of your favorite truths about God – like He has promised to never leave us.

  1. Read Hebrews 12:1-3.  What stands out to you in these verses?  What can cause you to take your focus off of Jesus?  What helps you bring your focus back to Jesus?

  1. Who and what practices do you have in your life that is helping you grow closer to God?

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also pray the truth found in Hebrews 12:1-3 (read these verses again).

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
