Group Opener: 

 

If you could rewrite one event in history, which one would it be?

 

Group Questions:

 

  1. When do you find yourself facing uncertainty in your life how do you typically respond?

 

  1. Who or what source do you turn to for truth?

 

  1. Read John 16:12-15.  What is Jesus is telling us in these verses about the Holy Spirit and our finding truth?

 

  1. How would you like to have a personal advisor that loved you and always had your best interests in mind when he gave you advice?  As followers of Christ read in John 14:16-18 what we have access to.

 

  1. What keeps you from relying on God during times of uncertainty?

 

  1. How does filling our minds with the truths found in God’s word help us to rely on God?

 

 

Prayer Time:

 

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

 

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us understand what it means to completely trust him and put our hope in his truths.

 

Notes for your prayer time:

 

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.
