Small Group Questions - Weekend of March 22

Group Opener:

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard a kid say?

Group Questions:

  1. What does hope mean to you?

  1. Read Matthew 6:31-34.  What are some of the things our culture puts their ‘hope’ into?

  1. What can keep you from placing more trust (hope) in God?

  1. Read Romans 15:4.  Our hope needs to be grounded in the truth found in God’s Word.  What can happen if we base our hope on people’s opinion or even man’s best thinking?

  1. What is one area of your life that you sense you need to give God more control?

  1. Read Philippians 2:12-13.  Be encouraged that as you seek what God desires in your life he will show you what his ‘good purpose’ is for you.  What encouragement or motivation do you find in this passage?

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us understand what it means to completely trust him and put our hope in his truths.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
