Small Group Questions - Weekend of February 22

Group Opener:

If you could be in any movie, which one would it be? Why? Would you play any specific role?

Group Questions:

  1. What makes it hard to “shine as lights” for Christ in our culture?

  1. Read Philippians 2:14-16. According to this passage, what are some specific ways we can “shine as lights in the world”?

  1. Specifically, how can we “hold fast to the word of life”? What role does the Bible play in our walk with Him and our witness to others?

  1. Read Philippians 2:19-30. Timothy and Epaphroditus were both examples for the Philippians, and for us. Why? How did they “shine”?

  1. Describe people in your life who shine brightly. How have they impacted you?

  1. Make Philippians 1:3-11 your prayer for each other – thanking God for the work He is doing in your lives, and asking for love, knowledge, discernment, purity, and righteousness. Ask Him to help you remain faithful.

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us strive to live our lives for God and not for what we can gain in this world.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
