Small Group Questions - Weekend of September 27

Group Opener:

Share one way the ministry of WCC has impacted your life.

Group Questions:

  1. Are you ever surprised by your unwillingness to forgive?  Why or why not?

  1. Read 1 Peter 3:8-9.  How does our level of humility affect our ability to forgive someone?

  1. Read Colossians 3:12-13.  What does it mean to clothe yourself in these qualities?

  1. How has God forgiven you?

  1. Erwin McManus has said, “You can’t always forget, but you don’t always have to remember.”  What is he saying in this statement?

  1. Read Romans 12:2.  What message do you get from the world on forgiving others?

  1. What message do we get from God? Have someone read Colossians 12:13 again.

  1. What’s one thing you have started to think about differently from this message series on “Forgiveness”?

Prayer Time:

What are some specific ways we can be praying for each other?  Take a few minutes to share your prayer requests with each other.

As we spend some time in prayer, let’s also ask God to help us remember that we are incapable to forgive and love people the way God commands us in His word.  Ask the Holy Spirit to soften our hearts and give us what we need to pursue the path of forgiveness.

Notes for your prayer time:

There is nothing wrong with praying for each other’s requests and you can continue to do so.  It is easy however to pray for all kinds of things that aren’t related to applying God’s truth to our lives.

My desire is to make sure we have some of our prayers focused around the life-change God desires to take place in each of us.  Scott Nieveen

Thanks for the role you play in providing a place for people to experience community while pursuing God!
