"For even the Son of Man
(Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve."
— Mark 10:45 |
Jesus came as a servant. When we follow His example and embrace a lifestyle of service, we have the opportunity not only to minister to others, but to fellowship with our Savior. As we incorporate service into every area of our life, we’ll begin to notice specific ways we can come alongside our spouse, our children, our friends, our colleagues. It is our prayer that God uses those everyday moments, as well as various opportunities in the church and community, to teach us to serve like Christ – humbly and sacrificially putting others before ourselves.

But serving doesn’t just happen in church. First John 4:12 says, “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression through us.” We have the chance to show others the love of God by coming alongside of them. While we strive to develop that lifestyle of service through everyday actions, we also recognize the importance of joining with others in our community to meet very specific, tangible needs. Below are several ways you can serve others in our community. |
